I'm going to be a part of the film editing team and I am an amateur, help!?

Okay, so I am a college freshman. When I heard about our school's film making team, I decided to join the team's editing crew. I am just getting a bit nervous 'cause when I was interviewed by the club's adviser, I found out that the film editors' job is one of the hardest, since most of the movie's outcome lies on their hands. I don't have much experience in editing films, I just edit some clips and stuff but films? No. I guess I only have a month left for learning and I think that's kind of a short period to be good at video editing because its scope is so broad. Our adviser told me that the head editor will teach me stuff and help me become better but I don't want to be a freeloader in the team, I want to help a lot, I don't want to cause troubles or delays regarding the production and whatsoever. I am also willing to give my 100% effort for this. Could you please help me? What tips can you give? I am using Sony Vegas Pro 9 for editing.

Depends on the age of the kid. In the McCann's case, the child was only 4 and should not have been left at all - least of all with two other kids even younger than she was. By the age of 8 I'd leave my child to quickly go and get a pint of milk or similar. By the age of 12, my child could get herself to school and back and be left for an hour or so if I was not able to be at home. By the age of 14, I would consider myself a bad parent if my child did not have the ability and common sense to be left home alone for a day. Lets face it, 60 years ago this was the school leaving age and kids went out to work at this age. If you can't leave your kid at that age you have molly coddled them and not done them any favours.

Why won't Inkscape save .svg files?

I downloaded the latest version of inkscape. Now whenever I try to save something, it saves as a "file" with no extension. I tried reinstalling, and that didn't work. When I click "save as" Inkscape SVG is one of the available file types, but that isn't what it saves as. Any ideas?

Plants good for a heavy clay soil?

You are in the same zone as I am and glads will not survive over the winter. They need to be dug up and stored over the winter like dahlias. Usually only half the mums will live over winter unless you have purchased the hardy ones. No plant likes clay..I find the best way to plant in this soil without digging it out is to dig a hole and put new rich top soil in the hole which I am planting my new plant in. Make the hole larger than the actual root of the plant so it can spread a bit..but honestly nothing loves clay soil..try any plant that will not have to root deep..iris are good for this and ornamental grasses are usually good in this too as the clay does not seem to smother the roots or dwarf the growth too much.

I need some information on swimming?

I am thinking about joining the swim academy at my high school for freshman year. In academy they teach you how to play the sport, and that will be beneficial considering I know practically nothing about it and I can't swim all that great. But the only thing is I am concerned on how it will impact my thighs and shoulders.. Too many processes running on Windows 7. Help!?

Hi, I have an HP laptop about a year old and it recently started freezing up constantly. I figured out I had about 85 processes running and that was most likely the cause (Or so I hope.) I'm going through and trying to clear out all the programs I don't need. I came across a whole lot of programs that I don't know exactly what they do. I mainly use the computer for schoolwork, facebook, e-mail, photoshop, iTunes, watching DVDs, and things of that sort. I don't do much gaming on it. I'm not sure if this is too broad of a question, but what are the minimum processes that I should be running? I tried doing some research on all of the processes, but most of it didn't make much sense to me. Secondly, could it be the processes making it freeze up? It'll run for maybe 5 minutes, freeze, and then I have to power it down. If I take the battery out and leave it for a while it'll work for maybe a half hour and then freeze again. It runs on Safe Mode fine though. This is kind of two questions in one but could anyone help me? I'm desperate here. ANY help is appreciated. THANK YOU! (:

Well I just finished reading "Jurassic Park" not too long ago and I absolutely loved it so I recommend reading it. I'm 5'4", and I weigh 115, and I always look up at curvier, taller girls and feel jealous. You should learn to love your body-I know, it's definitely tough to do-by showing off your curves. For taller woman, longer shirts often make you look shorter (if that's your goal.) However I always think tall girls wearing ponytails look great. I learned hair often is a big part of my appearance. I might wake up one day and my hair's a mess and think, wow, I look so fat today, and then I might have great hair the next day and wake up feeling great. Hope I helped! :)

Obviously avoid things that make you look bad, but other than that... the key is loving your body, which is what I discovered this year. Why is it that I still feel anxious even after overcoming my shyness?

I've had anxiety issues my whole life, and have been shy up until this year. I've tried everything! But I still can't seem to gain weight!?

I'm 16, and I have been trying for years to gain weight. I have always been skinny and I feel really self concious about it. Physically my body doesn't look that bad, I am quite toned and I have quite a broad frame, however I am only about 130 lbs. I eat healthily, I have tried to eat foods high in carbohydrates. I have even tried weight lifting but thats difficult for me because I have a problem with my left hand which means I cant lift with it. So i got a new driver?

Okiee so i got the TaylorMade Superfast 2.0 driver. It's white, has a loft of 10.5, has a low torque shaft, and a ladies grip. Btw i'm 13 years old. Its definitely different from my old TaylorMade SVG with a loft of 12. Now my new driver, i tried it out, its lighter, and makes a DING! noise when i hit it. I feel i did better with my older one. What's stupid about not wanting to be the four millionth parent to name their kid Joe? Names are names and always look weird. It's for the best that people make their kid's names different though. I went from 340 to now 238. I'm going to continue losing weight until I feel like my looks are up to par with what they should be. I need a goal though so I can aim towards something. Stop trying to create problems for your children. If you like "unique" spellings, then change the spelling of your own names. Don't do that to an innocent child. Toning Questions! Please Help!?

Ok so hears the deal, I'm 18, 5'8, big boned and very broad everywhere shoulders, hips etc. Iv been on this "Lifestyle Change" for about 3 and a half months now because i hate the way i look like most teen girls, and I have been eating very healthy and drinking pretty much just water and milk in the morning. I have lost 26 pounds but how the hell to I get toned!? I have been doing situps crunches butt exercises and everything else but im not seeing a difference specially in my waist area and butt and thighs area :( my love handles are a disaster and they gush out and omg im just getting so discouraged. And then I have been reading stuff about loose skin? And how the only way to get rid of it is surgery? Is that what I have? Or is it fat? Let me put one thing out there I have never been obese or anything and I'm obviously young, if I countinue to loose weight will it just tighten up on it own? I do have stretch marks on my oblique areas but those have been there ever since I can remember. Also 2 more questions with weight lifting 1) If i start to lift weights consistently and gain muscle will it get rid of the fat? 2) If i start to do leg press's from the machine in the gym will it tone my thighs and butt? How can I deal with a dramatic best friend?

One of my best friends is such a drama queen. We get into fights a lot, and she always thinks she's right. I would say for you to wear clothes that show how shapely you are, but you are only 14. I am sure that you have a completely different taste to others so all I can suggest is that you go out shopping and experiment with different clothes- this may help you find the right fashion types that suit you. I don't know which shops you prefer- have you tried Matalan, Next, TK Max, or some other high-street shops? They have them here in London but I don't know about anywhere else in England.

depends on your eye color for eye shadow, but i would avoid yellow, orange and green. For the lips I would recommend a medium pink or red if you want to make your lips a focal point. For blush, I'd say light red or medium pink. I'm not sure about foundation because I don't use it, sorry! Hope this helped :)

I'm considering writing a novel (not to publish, because I doubt it will be that good- more for personal enjoyment and the feeling of accomplishing a goal, although if it turns out well I may enter it in a contest).
