How to display SVG Images in HTML website..? source is not local?

i am trying to upload and display the svg image onto my html website, however all the codes I'm trying are not working... the place where I am uploading the site apparently does not recognize that the website and the image are in the same local folder thus the code would only work with a link as the source.. thank you
